After a quick plane switch in Charlotte, NC, and a 5 hour layover in Ft. Lauderdale, we finally arrived in Haiti at 4:34 pm. Our Haitian friends were there to meet us and get us safely to the guesthouse. There was a man playing the trumpet just outside the airport, he was playing the song "How Sweet Thou Art", which seemed like a fitting way to begin our journey. After a bumpy and adventurous ride (most roads are unpaved and there are no stop signs or designated lanes) we arrived at our guesthouse. The house was very nice and big, and had a lovely porch where we spent our evenings reflecting on the day and planning for the next.
